Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) is a public and autonomous university located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. TDTU's target is to be ranked 60th amongst universities in Asia by the year 2037.
TDTU has five campuses, in Ho Chi Minh City (two campuses), Nha Trang City, Lam Dong Province and Ca Mau Province. The main campus is located in an area of 300,000 m2 in Tan Phong Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Currently, TDTU has 17 faculties, 18 centers for technology transfer, 3 research institutes, 1 foundation for science and technology, and different laboratories. The University offers over 60 programs at the vocational, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. There are approximately 22,000 students pursuing their studies at the University.
TDTU also provides facilities for post-study workouts. The main campus boasts a sport complex in which lots of indoor games such as badminton, tennis, volleyball, basketball and many other activities can be played. Furthermore, there are a swimming pool and a FIFA 2-star football stadium. There are two fully equipped dormitories which can accommodate up to 2,160 students.
In 2015, TDTU became the first public university in Vietnam to be awarded 3 stars out of 5 stars by the QS World University Ratings. TDTU was also granted 4 US patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in 2015; this makes TDTU the first University in Vietnam to be granted US patents.
In 2016, TDTU was the first and only university in Vietnam to be included in the list of the world’s top 200 universities on sustainability, where it is ranked 156th by the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking.
In 2017, TDTU was ranked in the top 250 universities for green environmental and sustainable development and investment by the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.
In 2017, TDTU was awarded a quality management system certificate by DNV – GL based on the standards of ISO 9001: 2015 (replacing the ISO 9001: 2008 version). This demonstrates the quality and effectiveness of TDTU’s management system and educational operations, research, and internationalization.
In 2018, the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCÉRES), after nearly one year of document appraisal and evaluation, decided to recognize TDTU as a university under French and European standards.
In 2018, TDTU became the first Vietnamese public university to be rated 4 out of 5 stars by the QS Stars. Among the criteria, TDTU was awarded 5 stars for teaching, facilities and internationalization.
In 2018, TDTU was ranked 1,422 in the world by the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP).
TDTU is steadily growing to meet expanding demands for higher education as well as high-quality human resources in Vietnam. The University is now ranked among the largest and fastest growing universities in Vietnam in all aspects. As an international institute of learning, TDTU welcomes collaboration with researchers, scholars and academics from around the world.
As the sole owner of Journal of Information and Telecommunication (JIT), TDTU is pleased to cover the article publishing charge (APC) for Open Access publication in the journal. JIT aims to be indexed in the ISI and Scopus databases in the near future.
